The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, CCEA today approved financial assistance of 3466 crore rupees for repair and safety of 198 dams in the country. Briefing media, IT and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, the Cabinet has also approved 205-kilometre Indore-Budhni new railway line with an investment of over 3,200 crore rupees.
The Minister said the main purpose of this project is the development of the backward area. It will reduce travel time from Indore to Jabalpur as well as from Indore to Mumbai. The CCEA also approved equity investment of one thousand thirty-three crore rupees for setting up a Coal Gasification based fertilizer project at Talcher in Odisha by Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited.
The revival of the Talcher project will ensure huge investment in the fertilizer sector from the Government through PSUs. This will create job opportunities and boost the economy of the State and the eastern region.
Cabinet has also approved the extension of the timeline for implementation of the special package under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission for Jammu and Kashmir for another period of one year during 2018-19.
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs also gave ex-post facto approval to ASHA Benefit Package from next month with two components.
