Union Minister for Micro, Medium and Small Enterprises Nitin Gadkari has said that the government is aiming at generating five crore fresh employment in the MSME sector.

During the Question Hour in Rajya Sabha, he said, the Government envisages a growth of the MSME sector by fifty per cent with more focus on agricultural and tribal regions. He said, the move is to check mass migration from hubs of agriculture and tribal regions to cities and towns.

Mr Gadkari also said, filing of patents by MSME units is being encouraged through a slew of measures by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, as conversion of knowledge into wealth is very important for the economy.
