Goa Information and Publicity Minister Milind Naik today said in the state assembly that a probe will be conducted into the allegation of irregularities during International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2014.
The mega film event IFFI 2014 was held in November last year in Goa. Independent MLA Vijay Sardesai raised the issue during question hour of the ongoing Monsoon Session. Referring to a police complaint filed by one Goa biased NGO,he alleged scam in the state run Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), who hosts the film Festival. Mr Sardesai alleged that the décor was given at the cost of Rs 4.53 laks but the actual bill of Rs 5.61 crores was submitted by the contractor and no priory permission was taken.
Replying to this question, Mr Milind Naik said that a House Committee would be formed to investigate the allegation.
