Separatist leader and the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Sunday expressed his deep concern and anguish over the ‘heavily-armed’ processions taken out by right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) men in Jammu city.

Geelani, according to a spokesman of the party, lashed out at Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed for “handing over the control of J&K to communal and fascist forces” and for “working as an employee of Sangh Parivar merely for his chair.”

Terming the situation as alarming, Geelani expressed his apprehensions that “communal forces in Jammu region are preparing to repeat 1947 and the state administration is not only silently watching this but providing every possible help to the fanatic elements.”

Geelani expressed solidarity with Muslims and other minorities of Jammu division and assured them that people of Kashmir “will stand by them in every situation.”
