Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today unveiled the joint study report on Insurance Requirements of the Indian Logistics and Warehousing Industry at a function in New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gadkari said India is one of the fastest growing economies but the logistic cost is still high and there is a need to significantly reduce it. He said the government is giving more focus to promote inland waterways as the logistic cost is very low in it.

On the occasion, the Minister also informed about the development of a new highway alignment between Delhi and Mumbai. He said it will be a green highway with extended lanes. The Minister said new highway alignment will cover the backward areas of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana. Mr Gadkari said it will help in promoting industrial development in these areas.
