Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has called for a quick roll-out of flex-fuel vehicles capable of running on 100 per cent ethanol and gasoline in Indian automobile sector.

Mr. Gadkari on Tuesday met a delegation of CEOs from Society of India Automobile Manufacturers. The delegation pleaded with the Minister for the deferment of emission-based regulations like BS-6 phase two.

He congratulated the automobile manufacturers for their performance in the vehicle-engineering sector. He appealed to private vehicle manufacturers to compulsorily provide a minimum of six airbags across all variants and segments of the vehicle for the safety of the passengers.
