Former Lok Sabha MP, Veteran Trade Unionist and Communist Party of India leader Comrade Gurudas Dasgupta passed away in Kolkata today.
Passing away of veteran leader and trade unionist Gurudas Dasgupta is a big loss for the nation. He will always be remembered for his brilliant parliamentary track record and probity in public life.
Dasgupta, known for his oratory skills, is a veteran trade union leader of AITUC.
He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 1985. He was also a member of the Lok Sabha from Panskura in 2004 and Ghatal in 2009.
Dasgupta was one of the finest parliamentarians of the country, someone who spoke for the working people, who stood by his party and who contributed immensely to parliamentary debates and proceedings.
