The flood situation has worsened in Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh . The water level of Chambal and Sindh rivers is increasing rapidly due to the continuous release of water from Kota Barrage. Army, police and SDRF teams are rescuing people to safer places. Meanwhile, the central team has started assessing the damage in flood-affected areas. AIR correspondent reports that the Inter-Ministerial team led by the Joint Secretary of the National Disaster Management Authority met the Chief Secretary and other officials at the State Secretariat today.
The team is on a two-day visit to Madhya Pradesh. Officers of the respective departments and Director General of Police were also present in the meeting. The central team is starting a assessment of flood affected areas of the state from today. During its visit, the central team will take stock of the situation in Vidisha, Raisen, Rajgarh, Mandsaur, Agar Malwa and Ujjain districts. During this time, the team will meet the collector of all these districts and will also interact with the victims.
