In Manipur, the flash flood situation has improved as the water level in most of the inundated low lying dwelling areas has started receding. However, some parts of the Khwairamband Imphal Market are still affected by the flood and all shops and business establishments kept on lock from the last three days.


Meanwhile, the State IFC Minister L. Sushildro assured that the flood situation in Imphal city including Imphal market will be controlled in two days and normalcy will return very soon.


Speaking to media persons, the minister said that the IFC Department has been monitoring the situation by visiting all the flood affected areas of Manipur. The Department has also arranged alternative means for providing uninterrupted drinking water to the people.


The State Health Directorate also informed the people of flood affected areas to remain alert from venomous snakes. The Department has announced that those who suffer snake bites can take the anti-venom medicines from the concerned Chief Medical Officers.
