greater kashmir pellet victimAn expert committee on alternatives to pellet guns has submitted its report to Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi in New Delhi today. The seven member committee headed by T V S N Prasad, Joint Secretary in the Ministry, was set up to explore the possible alternatives to pellet guns as non-lethal weapons.

The panel was formed in the backdrop of casualties and serious injuries caused by pellet guns during the ongoing unrest in Kashmir valley. Political parties have been demanding that the guns which have proved to be lethal should not be used to disperse the unruly crowd.
