Armed forces personnel who retired prematurely will be entitled to one rank one pension, OROP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this while addressing a rally after inaugurating the Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar line. The extension of the Delhi Metro connects Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar in Faridabad.

Prime Minister also said that a commission is proposed to be set up to address shortcomings, if any, in the OROP decision. He said that some people are trying to mislead armed forces on OROP and trying to score political points. Saying his government announced One Rank One Pension yesterday a long standing demand over four decades, Mr Modi said nothing is bigger than respect for the veterans and those who gave their life for the nation.

Mr. Modi said his government’s sole aim is development. He said government is committed that no poor remains homeless by 2022, when the nation will be celebrating 75 years of Independence.

Saying Haryana is his second home, Mr Modi said he is determined for the overall growth of the state. He said Beti Bacho, Beti Padhao campaign also has been launched from Haryana. Saying the metro is environment friendly, the Prime minister assured that the metro soon will be extended to Ballavgarh.

Speaking on the occasion, Urban Development minister M Venkaiah Naidu said the country is marching ahead under the able leadership of Prime minister. Mr Naidu said 200 km network of Delhi metro has been completed today and another 610 km of metro network is under construction all over the country.

Earlier, Prime Minister travelled by Delhi Metro to inaugurate the extension of the Badarpur Line that will connect the satellite city of Faridabad to the national capital.

Mr Modi boarded the Metro at Janpath Station at 10 AM and reached Faridabad’s Bata Chowk Station. At the Bata chowk metro station, Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, union ministers Venkaiah Naidu, Choudhary Birender Singh, Babul Supriyo, Krishan Pal Gurjar and Rao Inderjit Singh were present.

Prime minister took passengers and metro officials by surprise as earlier he was scheduled to take a chopper to Faridabad.
The extension of Delhi Metro to Faridabad has brought cheers to people living in the NCR. Over two lakh people commuting between Delhi and Faridabad daily will be benefitted out of this.

Made with a total cost of two thousand five hundred crore rupees, the indigenously built nine-station metro corridor will provide people a safe, affordable, environment-friendly and sustainable transport facility. A major portion of the road users are expected to shift to this mode of transport. The new route will be thrown open for the public at 4 PM today.
