President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be sworn in at the Turkish Parliament on Saturday after winning a historic runoff election and securing another five years in power.

Inauguration ceremony will be attended by twenty-one heads of state, 13 prime ministers as well as parliamentary, ministerial-level representatives and representatives of international organisations, including the Organisation of Turkic States, NATO and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Ambassador Virander Paul will be representing India at the ceremony.

Talking to the media, Turkey’s Communications Director, Fahrettin Altun said, President Erdogan will also announce his new Cabinet on the same day. Altun said, following the swearing-in ceremony, Erdogan will visit Anitkabir, Ataturk’s mausoleum. The inauguration in Parliament will be followed by an elaborate ceremony at Erdogan’s palace in Ankara.

Erdogan won the presidential run-off election by securing 52.18 percent of the vote, defeating his opponent Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who received 47.82 percent votes.
