GADCHIROLI/ RAIPUR: The death toll in the police encounter with the Maoists in Dhanora Taluka of the Naxal-affected Gadchiroli district has gone up to eight. One more student, who was seriously injured in the incident, succumbed to the injuries in Nagpur Saturday. The dead include three soldiers of Indo-Tibetan Police force and five others including three school children.
Meanwhile in Chhatttisgarh, cordon and search operations were on following encounter between the police and Maoists in the Mahasamund district. The bodies of the 8 Maoists killed in the encounter have been recovered. The incident occurred near Padkipalli under the Sankra police station area of the district.
According to AIR two jawans have also been injured in this encounter and Police have recovered two weapons from the site of the incident and additional police reinforcements have also been sent to the spot.
