Haryana government has constituted a 4-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Additional Director General of Police, Crime S S. Kapoor to speedily and thoroughly investigate the three cases of explosion that have occurred in Kurukshetra yesterday and in Panipat on January 16 and May 13 this year. The other members of the SIT included Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police Simardeep Singh, Superintendent of Police of Railways at Ambala Cantt. Kuldeep Singh Yadav, and Assistant Director Technical in CID Arvind Hooda.
A spokesman of Haryana Police said, the government has also decided to seek the help of National Investigation Agency in investigation of the yesterday’s explosion in Haryana Roadways bus at Kurukshetra. Eight passengers were injured in the explosion in the bus which was on way to Chandigarh from Sonepat.
The spokesman said, a case has been registered at Thanesar police station of Kurukshetra district. Transport Minister Krishan Lal Panwar visited LNJP Civil Hospital in Kurukshetra to enquire the well-being of the injured. He announced to give a financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to each of the injured in the incident. He appreciated the manner in which the driver and conductor of the bus helped the injured and said that letters of appreciation would be given to both of them for the act of their bravery.
