PATNA: (AMN) Taking serious note of the use of illicit liquor to allure innocent voters in Bihar, the Election Commission has instructed the authorities in the state to take a stern action against those found using liquor for luring the voters.
Massive raids are being conducted to seize country made illegal liquors from different places of the state. Over one lakh eighty six thousand litres of illegal liquor has been seized during raids. Two thousand eight hundred cases have been registered and about one thousand five hundred persons have been arrested so far in the connection. A fine to the tune of over 25 lakh of rupees has also been slapped on the culprits. Officials have been instructed to put video surveillance at all storage points and keep a close watch on the production of various desi liquor.
