An eight -member Election Commission team led by Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi has arrived in Chandigarh today on three-day visit to review the preparations ahead of Punjab Assembly polls which are due early next year.
Team comprises Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi and two Election Commissioners besides Deputy Election Commissioners. Today the team of Election Commission will hold meetings with representatives of national and state political parties.
Tomorrow the election commission team will have a meeting with Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, nodal officers of narcotic control bureau, state narcotic control bureau, income tax & excise and taxation department officials. On the last day of the visit, the team will meet Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and other senior officials of Punjab.
