A high level team of the Election Commission reviewed preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh Tuesday. Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat is leading the team comprising Election Commissioners Sunil Arora and Ashok Lawasa and other senior officials.

The team, on a two-day visit to the state, held meeting in Bhopal today with representatives of political parties and officials to ensure free and fair elections.

AIR correspondent reports that in the meeting with the political parties the Commission has received many complaints and suggestions for better election, while in meeting with officials, the Commission came to know about the status of law and order in state.

In front of the full bench of the Election Commission, all political parties opened the box of their complaints and suggestions.

Rawat and his team today held 15-15 minutes separate talks with seven leading political parties Congress, BJP,TMC, CPI,CPM,BSP and AAP. During the meeting Congress appealed to change the biased officers while the Communist Party demanded a ban on religious and racist events. BJP appealed to increase the limit of election expenditure to 25 percent.

Election Commission will continue its meeting with top officials on security and election management tomorrow.
