The Election Commission of India has ordered the constitution of two teams for Bhopal and Narmadapuram (Hoshangabad) to enquire into the alleged errors in the electoral rolls in Madhya Pradesh.

The Commission’s team for Bhopal will visit Narela and Bhojpur Assembly Constituencies and the team for Narmadapuram (Hoshangabad) will visit Seoni-Malwa and Hoshangabad Assembly Constituencies. The teams will reach the constituencies tomorrow and the final report will be submitted to Commission by 7th June.

The Congress today approached the Election Commission alleging discrepancies in the electoral list published in January this year in Madhya Pradesh.

A party delegation, led by the state President, Kamal Nath met the Commission in New Delhi and submitted documents related to irregularities in the voters’ list.
