The Election Commission has asked all political parties to refrain from using provocative languages in speeches during Assembly Elections campaigning in Bihar.

In an advisory issued today, the Commission categorically instructed political leaders and contesting candidates that votes should not be sought on caste or religious lines.

It said no personal attack should be made and the dignity of women should not be compromised during the campaigning. The advisory comes in the wake of political parties and leaders reportedly using improper language during public meetings.

The State Election department has sent reports and video clips of the alleged provocative speeches in Begusarai and Patna recently made by BJP chief Amit Shah, RJD President Lalu Prasad and Former chief minister Rabri devi .
