President of India Ram Nath Kovind today led the nation in paying tribute to Bharat Ratna awardee Dr BR Ambedkar on his 64th Mahaparinirvan Diwas (death anniverssary).

He paid floral tributes at his Statue at Parliament House Complex this morning. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawarchand Gehlot Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and Members of Parliament paid floral tribute at Dr Ambedkar’s statue.

Besides, hundreds of people from all walks of life also paid tributes to him.

In a tweet, Vice President said, people must draw inspiration from the vision and wisdom of Dr Ambedkar.

Prime Minister Modi also said in a tweet that, Baba Saheb dedicated his life for social justice and gave a unique gift to the country in the form of constitution, which is the cornerstone of the Indian democracy.
