INDIA’S Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said, India-China relations transcend bilateral dimensions and will have bearings on regional and global context. During her meeting with her Chinese counterpart General Wei Fenghe in Beijing yesterday, Ms Sitharaman said, New Delhi views the India-China ties as an important relationship in its foreign policy.
"India-China relations could be a factor of stability and we must not allow our differences to become disputes."

The Defence Minister told General Wei that differences should not lead to disputes in relations between the two countries.
Welcoming Ms Sitharaman, General Wei said that China attaches great importance to her visit to Beijing.
He said, Ms Sitharaman’s participation in the SCO Council of Defence Ministers’ meeting will further deepen the military relations between the two countries and enhance the development of security co-operation of the SCO.
