Delhi Police has said it exercised maximum restraint during yesterday’s violence in Jamia Milia Islamia university in the national capital.

Briefing media, Delhi Police PRO, M S Randhawa said police used minimum forces during the protests. He said around 30 police personnel and 39 protesters were injured.

He said around 100 private vehicles and ten police bikes were damaged by protesters.

He said the entire incident will be investigated by the Crime branch. Mr Randhawa also clarified that there was no firing and causality in the incident. He urged students not to pay heed to rumours.
