Delhi Police today informed that its Special Cell of the force’s Northern Region (NR) has arrested one Gurjot Singh, who was wanted in the Red Fort violence and hoisting religious flag case and had a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, from Amritsar in Punjab.
Confirming the arrest, DCP Special Cell Sanjeev Yadav said, “One Gurjot Singh wanted in the Red Fort case who had a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head has been arrested by a team of NR of special cell from Amritsar.”
In February this year, Delhi Police had announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh to anyone, who shared information that could help in tracing several of the accused persons in the case, including Gurjot Singh, Deep Sidhu, Jugraj Singh, Gurjant Singh and others.
Gurjot has been accused of involvement in hoisting the religious flags at the Red Fort and was since absconding.
