CBI lists 15 accused including Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in FIR related to excise policy case

Delhi LG Orders Transfer Of 12 IAS Officers With Immediate Effect.

Amidst Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the alleged irregularities in the formulation and execution of Delhi Excise Policy 2020-2021, Lt Governor of Delhi VK Saxena on Friday ordered transfers of 12 IAS officers, with immediate effect.

Interestingly, this comes just two days after the Delhi LG recommended action against IAS officer Udit Prakash Rai for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 50 lakh purportedly for extending undue favours to an executive engineer of the Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board (DAMB). The officer was accused of diluting punishment in two corruption cases against the latter. A complaint in this regard was filed with the Ministry of Home Affairs by JS Sharma in February 2020.

EARLIER the Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI, lodged an FIR against Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia in the alleged violations of rules and procedural lapses in the new liquor policy. 14 other persons including Excise Officials, liquor company executives, unknown public servants and private persons have also been named in the FIR.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had recommended a CBI probe over alleged violations of rules and procedural lapses in the policy. The Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI today carried out searches at different locations in Delhi-NCR including the residence of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the Delhi Excise Policy case.

During the CBI search operation, Mr Sisodia said, he will give full cooperation in the investigation so that the truth can come out soon. He said, till now, many cases have been filed against him, but nothing has come out.

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said, no matter how hard a corrupt person tries to prove himself innocent, he will still remain corrupt. He said, this is not the first case of corruption by AAP.
Mr Thakur said, there has been huge corruption in the liquor stores in Delhi.

He said, Arvind Kejriwal should stop treating people as fools and should stop addressing the people of the country. Mr Thakur said, Delhi Chief Minister did not even suspend Satyendar Jain when he went to jail. He said, AAP, Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia’s real face has come in front of the public today.
