Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has appeared before a court in Guwahati today in connection with a defamation case filed by a RSS worker. The Lawyer of the petitioner Bijon Mahajan said that the Chief Judicial Magistrate court of Kamrup Metro has granted 50 thousand rupees Personal Recognizance bond to Mr Gandhi. The next hearing will be held on 5th of November. Later addressing party workers, he alleged that RSS is trying to derail his Padyatra in Uttar Pradesh.
The Congress Vice President said that RSS ideology is to divide people in the name of caste, creed and religion. He also alleged that the Central government has failed to uplift the condition of common people and Acche Din has come for only 10 to 15 people.
The court order was issued on a case filed by the RSS against Mr.Gandhi for his alleged defamatory comment on the organization. He had alleged that RSS activists prevented him from entering Barpeta Satra, a Vaishnavite monastery, during a padyatra last year.
