The deadlock between Opposition Congress and treasury benches in the Rajya Sabha continues on the issue of Congress leader Kumari Selja’s visit to a temple in Dwaraka, despite regret offered by Power Minister Piyush Goyal.

The Minister withdrew his statement as the Chair has agreed to review the entire proceedings on the issue. Not satisfied with the minister’s regret, several Congress members came to the well of the House.

Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu pleaded with the Chairman to go through the records before taking appropriate action. The House was adjourned till 2 PM as the problem could not be sorted out in the Chairman’s chamber. The agitating members were raising slogans against treasury benches.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu suggested brief adjournment of the House to sort out the problem. Deputy Chairman Prof. P J Kurien informed the House that yesterday there was a fruitful discussion among leaders of all parties on the issue.
