CPI(M) has demanded stopping the use of pellet guns against the protesters in Jammu and Kashmir. It also sought adequate compensation for the families who have suffered loss of lives and rehabilitation of the injured due to use of non-lethal pellet bullets in the recent violence.
In a statement issued after party’s two days Polit Bureau meeting, the CPI(M) said, the dialogue process needs to be initiated immediately to end the current strife and move forward to a long lasting peace and normalcy in Kashmir.
It said, at the state level, consultations with all the political forces and civil society groups must be urgently started. The party also said that India must resume dialogue with Pakistan on all outstanding issues.
On the recent attacks on dalits, the CPI(M) alleged that there has been an increase in the such incidents ever since BJP government assumed office at the Centre.
