Government on Friday said that till now 724 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed and 17 people have died. Briefing media in New Delhi, Joint Secretary in Ministry of Health, Lav Aggarwal said, in the last 24 hours, 75 new positive cases and 4 deaths have been reported. He said, 1.4 lakh companies have allowed their employees to work from home to check spread of coronavirus.

Mr Aggrawal informed that Government has placed an order to a PSU to provide 10 thousand ventilators and Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited, BEL has also been requested to purchase 30 thousand additional ventilators in one to two months. He said, the Ministry has issued guidelines for tele-medicine facility and urged patients to take advantage of it.
 
Dr Raman R Gangakhedkar of Indian Council of Medical Research said, there is no evidence of community transmission of COVID-19 in the country yet. He informed that India will soon participate in WHO solidarity trial for developing potential drugs for COVID-19.
 
Joint Secretary in Home Ministry Punya Salila Srivastava said, States and Union Territories have been requested to make arrangements for food, water and sanitation for the migrant labourers. She said, hotels and rented accommodation should stay open and functional while taking all the COVID-19 precautions.
