Rahul_GandhiCongress President Rahul Gandhi has criticized the budget saying the government is still promising the farmers a fair price of their produce after four years of its rule.

In a tweet, Mr. Gandhi said, budget proposals include fancy schemes with no matching grants. He alleged the government has not been able to provide jobs to the youth.

Earlier, party leader P Chidambaram said, there is no tax relief to the average tax-payer.

Terming the 2018-19 Union Budget , presented by Finance Minister Atrun jaitley in the Lok Sabha, as ‘hollow’ and ‘defeatist’, the Congress on Thursday said
“Modinomics and Jaitelynomics have finally proved to be a rhetoric only’’.

Addressing a press conference here along with AICC media incharge Randeep Singh Surjewala , senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram said,’it is a defeatist budget. The Budget is a clear indication that the Government has thrown in the towel. This comes after the admission in the Economic survey that the government had failed to achieve the required results in education, employment and healthcare.’

Describing the union Budget for 2018-19, presented in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, as a big disappointment, the senior Congress leader said that the budget proposals were a big let down and that Mr Jaitley had failed the test of ‘fiscal consolidation’.
