Congress has requested the government to take measures to contain the strife in Jammu and Kashmir. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, party spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, government should deal firmly with misguided youth.
When asked about convening an all party meeting to discuss security situation in the state, Mr Singhvi said, his party favours such a meeting for constructive suggestions. The spokesperson also requested the Army and state police to observe restraint to the maximum extent possible while dealing with the locals.
