The main Opposition party Congress today announced that it would not send its spokespersons for television debates for a month.
The move comes amid the party’s big debacle in the recent Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and the post-poll chaos caused by its President Rahul Gandhi’s insistence on quitting.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala took to Twitter to request all media channels and editors to not place Congress representatives on their shows.
The decision comes following uncertainty in the party on whether Rahul Gandhi will continue as president as he remains firm on his decision to step down. Moreover, following Congress Working Committee meeting, the party has had to clarify on media reports citing remarks made by Gandhi at closed-door meeting
