NEW DELHI: (AMN)The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sunday said that the Congress was suffering from a siege mentality and therefore using abusive language against the opposition.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said: “The speech the Congress party has shown speaks of the mentality of the party which is under siege. Gandhi has only tried to deflect the attention of this country from the core issues of the United Progressive Alliance’s failure,"
In a statement, BJP President Nitin Gadkari also said the Congress was suffering from a mentality of a party under siege. He alleged that Congress had indulged in pretended aggression to deflect attention from its failures in checking corruption by UPA-II government.
Sitharaman further accused Sonia Gandhi of abusing the main opposition party and observed that the government is running away from answering questions.
"Instead of answering the questions, Mrs. Gandhi has chosen to abuse the opposition. She has very clearly taken a position, a pretended aggression, an aggression which is only coming to probably help energise her demoralised party cadres," she said.
