Despite Chief Minister Jharkhand Raghuwar Das and top police officials warning of strong action against against those disturbing the law & order situation in state, Communal elements in Ranchi and other parts of the state continued to be on rampage to disturb peace in the state.

Last mid night (Monday-Tuesday) a mob set on fire several homes and shop in Doranda area of Ranchi and raised communal slogan in the area. Local people also heard sound of firing in the area. Police has rushed to the spot but damage was done. On September 26 Chief came on road and appealed to all the people of Ranchi to maintain peace. CM went disturbed areas and old that if any body try to disturb the city and the law & order situation, strong action will be taken against them.

After the daylong disturbance on Saturday, the Capital City remained peaceful on Sunday after efforts to restore normalcy by district administration and local residents. Although Section 144 imposed on Saturday was not revoked till Sunday evening, no untoward incident was reported from across the city and people could be seen on roads spending a regular Sunday.

A ‘Peace March’ under the leadership of Ranchi DC Manoj Kumar and SSP Prabhat Kumar was organised by Central Peace Committee of Ranchi on Sunday from Albert Ekka Chowk to Hinoo appealing everyone to maintain peace in the city.

After meat was found outside four temples in the 2 days. The first incident, in Ranchi late on Friday, had triggered violence that shut down the capital on Saturday. Subsequently, meat has been found outside temples in Lohardaga, Palamu and Chatra districts. While Palamu and Chatra share long borders with Bihar, Ranchi and Lohardaga are closer to West Bengal and Chhattisgarh. At Lohardaga, meat was found outside a Durga temple in the Lawagai village within Kudu police station limits on Saturday morning. “Three people — all Muslims — were arrested after they were named in the FIR, but prima facie we think they were not involved. The investigation is ongoing,” said SP Manoj Ratan Chothe.
