More than 12 people have reportedly died due to the cold in different parts of Bihar including Patna, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Sheohar and Darbhanga districts of the state.
Several trains including Rajdhani Express either originating or passing through Bihar are running 10 to 15 hours late behind the scheduled time. Rail passengers are suffering alot at various stations.
Flights could not land due to dense fog. With frequent cancellation and inordinate delay of flights Patna airport has literally turned into a railway station or bus stand for the last three days. Hundred of passengers are waiting at the airport.
The Met department has issued an alert for heavy dense fog at most places in the state for the next two days.
Cold wave conditions prevailed at many places in Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Adampur in Punjab recorded 2.3 degree Celsius.
