Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the migrant labourers and people living in other states to stay where they are during lockdown until further instructions. He said, 12 nodal officers have been nominated for states to take care of these people.

He held a meeting with officials to review the situation in wake of COVID-19 outbreak. The Chief Minister stressed that exodus of migrant labourers at this time is not good and it was creating a problem for several states.

He also appealed to landlords in UP not to demand house rents from labourers and workers living in their houses till one month.

Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state has risen to 72. Out of these 72 cases, 14 patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
