cisfA Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable today gunned down four of his colleagues at a power plant in Nabinagar under Nabarikhurd police station area in Bihar’s Aurangabad district.

Aurangabad Police Superintendent Dr Satya Prakash said that the CISF constable identified as Balbir Singh fired indiscriminately from his INSAS rifle, killing two of his colleagues on the spot and as many as others died on the way to hospital.

He said that prima facie the fratricide was a fall out of internal dispute. He said that the killer jawan has been arrested and further investigation is on.

According to reports Balveer Singh, who was from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, had come back after a two-month yoga course and there were some issues regarding his leave. The CISF has set up a Court of Inquiry into the incident.

Refusal of leave has been one of the usual reasons for servicemen to turn the gun on their senior officers.
