The Trichy Railway Junction has been given the covetable Gold rating by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) for implementing various environment friendly measures.
It is to be noted that the rating was awarded in accordance with the Green Railway Station Rating System developed by the Environment Directorate of Indian Railways with the support of Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
This system takes into consideration the implementation of various national priorities like water conservation, handling of waste, energy efficiency, reduction in the use of fossil fuels, and also steps taken for ensuring the health & well-being of rail users and railway personnel.
