CBIThe Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI today conducted raids at 25 places in Odisha including at the residence of Balasore MP from Biju Janata Dal in connection with the Seashore Group’s chit fund scam affecting thousands of depositors in the state. The raids are going on at six locations in Bhubaneswar. Sources said the houses and offices of the key persons of the Seashore Group are raided. The Seashore Group is alleged to have duped people of about one thousand five hundred crore rupees.

Meanwhile, the TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay will be produced before the special CBI court in Bhubaneswar today on completion of his four-day remand. The CBI had taken Bandopadhyay on a four-day remand for interrogation in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund scam.

Earlier, the CBI had taken the TMC MP on a six-day remand. Similarly, Balasore MP from Biju Janata Dal is likely to appear before Central Bureau of Investigation today for his alleged links with multi-crore Seashore chit fund scam. This will be the third time, Jena will be quizzed by the probing agency. Last month, CBI had grilled Jena for around seven hours in connection with the multi-crore Seashore chit fund scam.
