Chinese President Xi Jinping sent messages of condolence to President of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday over the collapse of the cable bridge in Gujarat, India, which caused heavy casualties.
According to a statement in Chinese on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, President Xi Jinping said that he was shocked to learn that a cable bridge in Gujarat, India, ruptured and collapsed, causing heavy casualties.
On behalf of the Chinese government and people, I would like to express my deep condolences to the victims and sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the injured, the statement further said quoting President Xi. Premier Li Keqiang also sent a message of condolence to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the same day.
Yesterday, Chinese Foreign Ministry also expressed sympathies to the bereaved families and those who were injured in the Morbi bridge collapse in which 135 people lost their lives.
