UNION Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that children can play a key role in eradicating illiteracy from the country. He urged all students to come forward and teach their illiterate family members so that they can also read and write.
Speaking at a function organized tO celebrate 52nd International Literacy Day, Mr Javadekar said, there was a need to work together to achieve target of complete literacy in coming years. He also said, to enhance the pace of learning in illiterate people there is a need to simplify the material and teaching method.
He said, literacy mission must be a social movement across the country to eradicate illiteracy from the country. Mr Javadekar said, the government is committed to make New India which will be literate India. He said, a new nationwide programme like swachh Bharat mission will also be launched to achieve the target on time.
