During the meeting, the two leaders discussed issues like security situation, counter terrorism, infiltration attempts from across the border and steps to be taken to prevent on unrest like situation in the Kashmir valley. 

During his visit to Kishtwar along-with Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah, the Union Home Minster, Mr. P. Chidambaram reviewed the general law and order situation and security scenario prevailing in the districts of Reasi, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban at a high level meeting which was attended by civil and Police officers of these districts. He also got the district wise appraisal of the developmental activities and status of various projects under execution in these districts. Chidambaram is the first Union Home Minister to visit Kishtwar after a gap of almost 13 years .
