India are in complete control and it looked difficult for England to come back on day two in the Chennai cricket test. At stumps the hosts were 54 for 1. Opener Rohit Sharma 25 and Cheteshwar Pujara 7 are at the crease. India extended their lead to 249 runs which is still considered a formidable target on a lively track in MA Chidambram stadium. Earlier, England were bundle out at 134 runs. For India, ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took 5 wickets where as Axar Patel bagged 2 and Ishant Sharma claimed 2 and Siraj 1.
India were all out for 329 runs in their first innings . Resuming at overnight score of 300 for six, India lost four wickets for a paltry 29 runs. Only Rishabh Pant showed resistance to English attack and completed a well-crafted half-century.
On Day 1, India rode on Rohit Sharma’s masterful innings of 161 runs to dominate the proceeding on the first day.
