The Central Government has asked the states to send reports on the Maggi Noodles so that a decision could be taken on an appropriate action in the matter. Health Minister J P Nadda told media in Shimla that the government will take a final call on Maggi noodles soon after going through the reports from the states .
Meanwhile Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that action against Maggi Noodle and those endorsing it will be taken if the food samples are found unsafe for consumption. Addressing a press conference at Ahmedabad this afternoon, Mr. Paswan said that he has directed the food department and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India to look into the facts and initiate action.
Mr Paswan said that National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission -NCDRC have also been directed to initiate action immediately as this is a serious issue. He said, the people who are endorsing the brand are also liable to face action under Consumer Protection Act .
