Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman has said the Centre is sensitive about the problems faced by farmers in Tamil Nadu. She was responding to the concerned expressed by several opposition members including Tiruchi Siva of DMK, D. Raja of the CPI, Sitaram Yechuri and T K Rangarajan of the CPIM during the Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha today. They demanded that the Centre should waive the farm loans of the farmers.
The Minister said that Tamil Nadu is getting due recognition in all aspects. She said the union ministers including Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh had received the delegations of farmers, who are on a protest in Delhi. They are trying to solve their problems including farm insurance and Cauvery water.
