The Centre has alerted all agencies to remain vigil to tackle any threat of jehadi activities in Assam and North East. Talking to newspersons in Guwahati today, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said that threat of fundamentalists to North East is not new.
He said, vulnerability is very high as 98 percent of North East is connected with the international border. He said that ISIS is also trying to influence the region. Mr Rijiju said that the Centre is taking all steps to thwart any threat. Our Correspondent reports that the Assam government has also beefed up security in the state following the recent attack in Dhaka.
