A Central team will soon visit the drought-hit states to assess the situation. The decision to this effect was taken by Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh who held a review meeting with officials in New Delhi on Wednesday to assess the impact of deficit rains on crops in various states.

An official release said, Mr Singh has assured the states that the government is fully prepared to deal with the possibility of drought in view of deficit rains.
