The Inter-Ministerial Central Team deputed to make on-the-spot inspection of the damages due to the Cyclone Nivar in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry reached Chennai today. The team led by Union Home Ministry Joint Secretary Ashutosh Agnihotri is represented by the central departments of Agriculture, Highways, Finance, Power, Rural Development, Fisheries and Water Resources.
The members of the team will have a briefing by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy this afternoon. They are expected to begin their evaluation of the damages from tomorrow. They are set to visit several parts of eight districts including Chennai, Chengalpattu , Kanchipuram , Tiruvallur , Cuddalore Villupuram Vellore and Tirupattur , besides Puducherry till Monday. After their return to Chennai on Tuesday, they would hold discussions with State government officials.
