The Chief Election Commissioner, CEC, Dr. Nasim Zaid has asked District Magistrates, DMs, and Superintendent of Police, SPs, of all districts of Bihar to chalk out security plan in such a way to ensure free and fair polls for forthcoming Assembly elections of the state. Dr.Zaid instructed security officials to pay more attention in Naxal infested areas of the state.
He expressed a strict vigil should be maintained in troubled areas. The full Election Commission team is in Patna to review poll preparedness for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The Commission has already recorded the views of different political parties Friday regarding polling dates and security arrangements.
The Commission will hold discussions with Director General Enforcement, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax and Excise Commissioner to check money powers during elections. The CEC will also hold separate meetings with Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and Home Secretary to ascertain trouble free polls.
