The election campaign comes to an end in Himachal Paredesh today. The people of the state are excited about the fact that most of the candidates in the fray are well educated.
According to the Association for Democratic Reforms, which has analysed the self-sworn affidavits of all 338 candidates, 214 have declared an educational qualification of graduation or above.
As per the affidavits, the percentage of candidates having a qualification between 5th and 12th pass is just 36 percent, while on the other hand, 79 candidates are graduates, 52 are graduate professionals and 74 have post graduate degree.
Number of highly qualified candidates is also quite high with as many as eight aspirants having doctorate degree. There is only one candidate who is not literate, while one has not given his educational details.
