BSP Chief Mayawati has said that her party will win the popular mandate in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election and shot down speculation of an alliance with the BJP.
Addressing a rally in Kanpur for the 3rd phase of Assembly elections, Mayawati said, BSP is ready to sit in opposition but it will not form government with the help of BJP.
Criticizing BJP, the BSP leader alleged that incidents of atrocities against dalits increased in BJP ruled states including in Gujarat. Mayawati also denied any possibility of extending support to the SP-Congress alliance.
She said, SP-Congress alliance is an association of self interest only. She alleged that the Akhilesh government created lawlessness in the state and during its rule several communal incidents took place.
